Do You Go The Extra Mile For YOUR Clients?
In today's message I'd like to share with you the idea of going the extra mile for your clients, or doing more than you're being paid to do.
Many years ago when I was an 'on the floor' gym instructor I worked with a team of trainers who, like me, were on a base rate of only £5 an hour.
For that fee we were expected to clean machines, wash windows and vacuum floors in addition to performing the gym inductions required of our gym instructor roles.
Naturally, many of the instructors felt that the cleaning work was beneath them, and I must admit that I was none too pleased at having to clean up after other people yet, being aware that people judge you on the little things you do (or fail to do!) I went out of my way to ensure that whenever I was on shift that the gym was spotless and the customers were happy.
In addition, I made it my business to talk to everyone within the gym, learn their first names and offer advice above and beyond the calling of my £5 pay scale.
The result?
Within just a couple of months I became the busiest trainer that gym had ever known, earning more money and serving so many more clients than other trainers that shortly after I was able to quit and open my first personal training studio.
And the rest, as they say, is history!
How do YOU demonstrate your worth to your clients?
Do you approach work as a 'this is all you're paying for so this is all you're getting from me' transaction or do you go the extra mile and put forward the value that you believe you're worth?
It makes all the difference you know!
If you only demonstrate £5 per hour worth of service, how much do you think people will be willing to pay you?
As unlikely as it may seem, if you put forward more than you're currently being paid for, the odds are that someone will notice and they'll pay you what you're worth.
In fact, I believe we get paid EXACTLY what we're worth. If you're not getting paid as much as you'd like, then simply demonstrate more value!
As simplistic as this may sound, nevertheless it's true.
Try it,you'll be astounded at the results!
Where can you demonstrate more value?
Answer that question honestly and I GUARANTEE you that if you take action to actually demonstrate more value in that area over the next week, you'll get more new clients, more appointments and more money than you have in ages.
Think on it this way; Imagine you charged £100 an hour for your PT services. What level of service do you think that a client could expect from you for that money?
Once you've decided, then for 1 week starting today, I actually want to BE that £100 trainer.
Sound too simple?
Many of my mentor students thought so too...until they doubled their clients!
Go for it...I dare ya!
To your success
Dax
